PCB - Vintage Style Circuit Board, Mk1 “Goldie”, Phenolic Board
Tonebender MkI “Goldie” style circuit board made with a phenolic substrate for an even closer match to the vintage production boards. Phenolic boards are found in many vintage electronics before the use of fiberglass became common. This board is a recreation of a perfboard layout found in a surviving Tonebender MkI built into a gold sandcast case more commonly used for the Tonebender Mk1.5 and MkII. The mounting holes are spaced to fit our fuzz mounting bracket S-HMB-JEN.

PCB - Vintage Style Circuit board, CMOS Fuzz, Phenolic Board
This board is for a CMOS fuzz topology popularized by Craig Anderton’s Tube Sound Fuzz from the mid-70s. The board uses a new design with old-school traces on phenolic substrate for an era-appropriate look. Phenolic boards are found in many vintage electronics before the use of fiberglass became common. The circuit is based around a CD4049 CMOS hex inverter and was also the basis for other fuzz designs, including the Way Huge Red Llama. The board fits in a 1590BB and works well with our pre-drilled layout P-H1590BBBK-PD2. A layout can be found in our Documents section below. Recommended parts using Vishay PR02 resistors can be found in the below table.

PCB - Triangle Big Muff, Diagonal Perfboard, Phenolic Board
Triangle Big Muff style circuit board made with a phenolic substrate for an even closer match to the vintage production boards. Phenolic boards are found in many vintage electronics before the use of fiberglass became common. This board is a recreation of the distinct diagonal-pattern perfboard used in the earliest Triangle Big Muff units. This style of board was sold as a general-purpose prototyping board in that era, and can accommodate a variety of vintage-style builds.

Capacitor - Mod® Electronics, 50V, Oil Filled, Axial Lead
Mod® Electronics Oil Caps are high quality, hand-crafted capacitors that are the perfect choice for guitars, amplifiers, and all audio equipment. Each capacitor is impregnated with mineral oil for a void-free winding providing highly stable capacitance. The capacitor is hermetically sealed in an aluminum casing to ensure a long life. The detailed construction results in a precise capacitance with a tolerance of ±10%. Mod® Oil Caps also feature a red stripe to designate the outside foil. The 50V series are in smaller packages that are perfect for guitars, effects and more.
  • Casing: Hermetically sealed aluminum
  • Dielectric: Mineral oil
  • Lead Diameter: 20AWG
  • Termination Style: Axial
  • Tolerance: ±10%
  • Values: .001 μF - .047 μF
  • Voltage Rating: 50V

Chassis - Mod® Electronics, MK1 Fuzz, Pre-drilled, Folded 16 ga. Steel
Pre-drilled vintage style pedal enclosure by Mod® Electronics. The shape of this folded steel enclosure is inspired by the original MK1 Tone Bender enclosures and is pre-drilled to match the original layout of the MK1 pedal. The layout is intended for two pots, two jacks, and a footswitch so many fuzz varieties can be built in this enclosure. The MK1 fuzz enclosure features a removable bottom door for easy access to the battery. All required screws and rubber feet are included.

Chassis - Mod®, Buzzaround, Pre-drilled, Hammered Dark Gray
Pre-drilled vintage style pedal enclosure by Mod® Electronics. The shape of this folded steel enclosure is inspired by the original Burns Buzzaround enclosures and is pre-drilled to match the original layout of the Buzzaround pedal. The hammered dark gray powder coat provides a close match for the original appearance but will hold up much better than the paint found on the vintage pedals.

Chassis - Mod® Electronics, Wedge Shaped Fuzz, Pre-drilled, Folded 20 ga. Steel
Pre-drilled wedge shaped pedal enclosure by Mod® Electronics. The shape of this folded steel enclosure is inspired by the original FZ-1 and FZ-1A Fuzz Tone enclosures but the predilled layout is inspired by the Octavio and the early Carlsbro fuzz. This provides a classic pedal design with a layout that is more compatible with modern pedalboards than the original Fuzz Tone layout. The layout is intended for two pots, two jacks, and a footswitch so many fuzz varieties can be built in this enclosure. The wedge shaped fuzz enclosure features a hinged bottom cover for easy access to the battery. The four screws that attach the bottom are included.

PCB - Mod® Electronics, Germanium Fuzz, For 1590B or 1590N1
PCB for a Fuzz Face style circuit with PCB mounted potentiometers. Its very low component count makes it a great beginner project. Builders can use preselected transistors from P-Q2N1309-SET-FF with its included resistors for R1 through R4 for a simple and great sounding germanium fuzz. If a builder wants to use their own transistors, the stock component values are also clearly labeled on the PCB. The transistor footprints fit P-SGP-001 sockets making swapping transistors a simple process so builders can experiment with a variety of types and values. This board was designed for a 1590N1/125B or C65-sized enclosure, with the potentiometers spaced 30mm apart. It can also be mounted using the two screw-mount holes with the potentiometers wired off-board. There are two screw-mounting holes which are designed for M3 screws.
